It Only Take An Hour To Get The Advice You Need

Skull or scalp, the brain and other parts of the head are all parts of the head which can be damaged as a result of an head injury. A head injury may result in fracturing of the skull, which may or may not lead to injury to the brain. Head injury is extremely serious and immediate medical help should be called for in case of a potential injury. You should call a doctor immediately; they will then advise on the next steps to take, dependant on how serious the injury is. In each of the below cases, the doctor called will advise whether a patient needs emergency medical help:

? A person has been struck on the head with a sharp object or pushed to the ground, though he or she is still conscious
? A person has been hurt in the head following which he has vomited more than once
? A person is confused or dizzy following an injury to the head
– Walking will be impossible
? Severe headache

The injured person should be taken directly to the Emergency department in case of the following:

? Severe  head trauma
– A fall from a greater height than your own for a person
– A fall for a person on a hard surface or object
? Confusion, drowsiness, inability to walk and severe headache following an injury to the head

In cases of head injury, the injured person should not be allowed to move the head too much. In case the victim wants to be sick, roll them onto their side withouth moving he head. There is a fallacy that a person who has had a head injury should be kept awake and not allowed to sleep. But that is not the truth. Children are emotionally more disturbed after a minor fall and they cry a lot. They become calm as soon as their parents cuddle them. If the child needs to be taken to the hospital, it is okay to let him sleep and build up energy. So it is not necessary to keep a head injury victim awake. The emergency doctor is much better off testing a rested and calm child rather than a wailing one.

The head injury may be more serious than initially expected if the person who was injured seemed nornal right after the accident but then could not be wakened later. Getting a proper evaluation by a qualified doctor is crucial.

Head injuries should be treated very seriously as they can be dangerous occurrences. Serious long term consequences can result from minor head injuries (usually learning or psychological inabilities); this is now widely accepted in medical circles. Serious head injuries, it must be noted, can lead to either a full recover, a coma or can result in death. In case you are planning to make a head injury compensation claim for yourself or a friend in the UK, all aspects of the life of the injured person should be considered including rehabilitations, whether it is possible to return to normal daily  life, work and education opportunities, in order to help overcome the effect of the injuries. Getting good legal advice from personal injury solicitors or a brain injury solicitor is the right way to go about it.
